Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about Verisite.

1

What is Verisite?

Verisite is an independent website-verification service. We run automated checks on any website you enter and turn them into a trust score from 0 to 100, alongside a detailed report.
2

Is Verisite free?

Yes. Requesting a trust score for a website is free, needs no account, and has no limit for normal use.
3

Which checks does Verisite run?

We check SSL certificates, security headers, domain age, business registration, Trustpilot and Google reviews, privacy policies, the presence of contact details, blacklist status (police lists, Google Safe Browsing), DNS configuration, and known vulnerable CMS versions.
4

What does the score mean?

The score is a weighted average of all checks. 70 or higher means a trustworthy site, 40-69 needs attention, and below 40 carries clear risks. The reasons behind every score are always shown in the report.
5

Can I browse websites by category?

Yes. Every verified site is grouped into a category — shopping, news, finance, health, travel, and more. Open a category to see its sites ranked by trust score, with the best and worst rated highlighted, so you can compare a domain against similar ones.
6

Can I have my own website checked?

Yes. Enter the domain in the search bar on the homepage. If you want to verify the site as its owner and add information, get in touch with us.
7

How is Verisite different from Google Safe Browsing?

Google Safe Browsing mostly flags active malware and phishing in a binary way (safe / unsafe). Verisite adds business, technical, and reputational checks and produces a score with context — useful for sites that aren't on a blacklist yet but still look suspicious.
8

Are my searches stored?

We keep aggregate statistics (how often a domain is requested, anonymously) so we can serve known sites faster. We do not store individual search history linked to a person.
9

How often are websites re-checked?

By default each monitored site is re-checked every 1-3 weeks. Popular sites and sites with a low score are looked at more often.
10

How do I report an incorrect score?

Get in touch with the domain and what you think is wrong. We re-review the check as soon as we can.
